The ECC Sustainability Standard

The Eco-Certified™ Composite (ECC) Sustainability Standard is the voluntary industry standard for manufacturers of composite wood or agrifiber-based panels, as well as finished products (including components and laminated panels) made with particleboard, medium density fiberboard (MDF), hardboard, engineered wood siding and engineered wood trim.   MORE

Panel Producers
The ECC Standard focuses on lifecycle inventory and other verifiable envinronmental practices and highlights the responsible use of wood fiber and agrifiber by composite panel manufacturers.
Finished Products
The ECC program for manufacturers of finished products (including components and laminated panels) provides a powerful new tool to communicate the environmental advantages of industry products to a broad audience including consumers.

The North American composite panel industry is predicated on the optimal use of forestry byproducts and residuals—turning recycled and reclaimed material into higher value products. By their very nature, composite wood and agrifiber-based panels are among the greenest products available for architectural, construction and consumer products.
